The Cal State DC Scholars Program is preparing to send its 21st cohort of Scholars to Washington, D.C. for the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2027 —and we need your help!

For more than twenty years, the Cal State DC Scholars Program has opened doors that many CSU students never imagined possible. Founded in 2006, the program is the longest-running and largest Washington, D.C.-based experiential learning program in the California State University system. Nearly 1,000 CSU students have studied, interned, and launched careers through this transformational experience.

The DC Scholars Program is more than an internship program. Through long-standing relationships with congressional offices, federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and public policy leaders, we create opportunities that many students simply could not access on their own. Our students don't just visit Washington, they live, earn academic credit, build professional networks, and gain the confidence to pursue careers that change their lives there.

For many students, however, the greatest obstacle isn't earning an internship—it's being able to afford to live in Washington, D.C. Housing, transportation, and everyday living expenses place this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity out of reach for many deserving students.
