Imagine giving the next generation of scientists a head start on their research journey. That’s exactly what our Summer Undergraduate Research Experience, known as SPARK, does for rising first-year chemistry and biochemistry majors at CSUF. Over the past two summers, this program has been instrumental in placing students in research labs, where they not only gain invaluable hands-on experience but also build a supportive community with their peers. This early exposure to research is transforming their educational journey and setting them up for future success in the sciences. But we need your support to keep this momentum going!

As alumni you understand how important research was to your educational experience.  We want to continue providing the opportunity for our freshmen to begin their research experience in the summer and need your help.

Your gift will be used to:

1. Pay for an undergraduate student to work in a research lab during the summer to help them gain research experience and transform their education at CSUF.
2. Purchase supplies and materials for summer undergraduate research.   
3. Provide funds for students to present their research results at scientific conferences.
