CSUF students of the Offensive Security Society (OSS) are seeking YOUR support for their participation in the Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) on November 11, 2023 at Coastline College. OSS's mission is to teach individuals, no matter their background or their experience level, the fundamentals they'll need in the cybersecurity industry in our open and inclusive environment. We are supported by faculty from the Computer Science Department and Center for Cybersecurity.
At this regional competition, that feeds into a larger global effort, the Titan team will form a consulting firm providing cybersecurity services to a mock organization. We will provide deliverables, presentations to company management, and recommendations on vulnerabilities discovered during our test.
How Your Support Helps
Donations will go toward sponsoring our team of six (6) students training for the event, transportation, meals and lodging for this multi-day competition, and accommodation for a faculty advisor. You make it possible for our Team to concentrate on their training and technical skill development for this important competition.
Any money raised over our goal will be put towards the Spring competition.
Your Impact
By supporting, you give our team a high impact learning practice in cybersecurity. These competitions are critical to student development as they simulate a real-world scenario that focuses on mimicking the activities performed during a real-world penetration testing engagement conducted by companies, professional services firms, and internal security departments around the world. It also provide an invaluable opportunity for students to work in a team setting. We gain tons of real-world skills in penetration testing, security consulting, and technical prowess. In addition, we also flex our business and hireable-skill muscles as we communicate our findings to C-suite executives.
Foundational Success
Our OSS teams have performed admirably in past competitions. Please see articles about past success. With your support we look forward to building on this legacy and take it further!
