The Veterans Resource Center at Cal State University, Fullerton strives to create a community of wellness and support for all members of the Titan Veteran Family (TVF) which includes current military, veterans, and their families. Through this community of support, we support our students' academic, personal, and professional success.
We continuously engage with our students to meet them wherever they are and guide them along their path toward success. We believe that only through unity can we hope to meet the varied needs of our students, which is why our center is and will continue to be an inclusive space for all.
Your Impact.
With your support and donations, the Veterans Resource Center plans to increase retention and graduation rates amongst CSUF veteran and military-connected students, who are predominately first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented.
With our funds, we will host events, such as Catch a Wave with PAVE that consists of surf lessons with veterans and military families, purchase suits for the VetForward Career Development program, provide preventative and emergency financial assistance, and sponsor community-building activities for the TVF program.
Our inclusive and student-centered values consistently empower our students to reach higher. Let's show our students how much Titans care.
Community building and recreational therapy event for students who signed up for one-on-one peer advising with fellow veterans.
Various activities led by Veterans Resource Center work-study staff and other students to foster community and camaraderie. Activities each semester vary by student interest, but have included Theater-watching, Hiking, Kite Flying, Camping, BBQ Wednesdays, Taco Tuesdays, Monday Night Football, and others.
Our Women for Women program holds monthly brunches to foster a sense of community and support among veterans, family members, and allies/supporters. The program is designed to meet the needs of our military-connected women, but works tirelessly to be a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
Donating at this level would allow us to purchase professional attire for veterans who participate in the VetForward program. VetForward is a cohort-based career preparation program for student veterans at CSUF at the end of which our department provides them with professional attire to support their transition to post-graduation employment.
Our department hosts an annual Women Veterans in High Education Conference. Support at this level would allow us to broaden the scope of this conference to further support our women veterans at CSUF and empower them to reach even higher as Titan alumni.
Donating at this level will support the military-connected population when they need it the most. We have resources in place to support student veterans in emergency situations, but we aim to expand our financial support program to serve all military-connected students before their needs rise to the level of an emergency. Particular areas of support would include: food stipends, one-time housing stipends, gap scholarships, childcare stipends, etc.
Support at this level would allow us to recruit and retain additionally tutoring services and other academic support to meet the needs of our students. Student veterans have consistently advocated for tutoring services to be available through the VRC and we hope to fulfill that need with your support.
