State of the Art Simulation Experiences

Nursing simulation is an integral part of the undergraduate and graduate nursing education programs at Cal Sate Fullerton and across the country. Simulation training prepares students for everyday low-risk clinical situations, chronic conditions, and complex scenarios they will face as practitioners. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the shift to virtual learning, we have added simulation software to both our undergraduate and graduate programs to provide rich enhancements to otherwise limited, safe clinical placements.

With more than 900 nursing students enrolled in our programs and engaged in skills training, we need your help to raise $12,000 to further enrich their virtual learning experience with:

  • Bates' Visual Guide to Physical Examination delivers head-to-toe and systems-based physical examination techniques for the (Advanced) Assessment or Introduction to Clinical Medicine course. Cost: $110.00 per student

  • i-Human Patients is a high-performance, cloud-based software platform simulates a complete medical patient encounter with animated avatars, human physiology and pathophysiology, and 3D anatomy, all for the purpose of improving users’ patient assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills and patient outcomes. Cost: $100.00 per student

  • Sentinel City is an engaging and rewarding way to learn what community and population health nursing is all about. Students practice critical thinking, observation and care planning in a risk-free environment. Cost: $99 per student

  • Prioritization of Care-Hospital gives students the opportunity to practice clinical judgment and decision-making skills that relate to identifying and prioritizing patient care in this clinical scenario that offers a high volume and vast variety of patients. Online nursing scenarios feature 40 unique patients with symptoms ranging from early stage heart failure and respiratory distress to orthopedic pain and depression. Cost: $39 per student

Please consider contributing so that we may continue to provide our School of Nursing students with state of the art simulation experiences, which lead to the best nursing care possible. Should we raise more than $12,000 we will use the funds to purchase additional items on our wish list, which is always growing! All contributions, no matter the size, are appreciated!
