The Abrego Future Scholars Program provides financial and academic support for first-generation college students during their first two years of studies at California State University, Fullerton, awarding up to thirty $1,500 scholarships annually.
This program, as part of the celebrated Center for Scholars, helps facilitate the transition to college for students who have been disadvantaged due to their economic, environmental, or educational background. The program also honors students who demonstrate strong academic skills, strength of character, and service to their school and community.
Students in the program receive dedicated support services including academic advising, student life activities, mentoring, campus-wide connections, and other necessary tools to ensure their success at CSUF and beyond.
The Abrego Future Scholars have an average 3.21 GPA and regularly appear on the Dean's List for their respective colleges. After graduation, they continue to elevate their family outcomes and positively contribute to their communities.
Over the past 33 years, champions in the community have raised more than $1 million dollars through the Hispanic Scholarship Golf Tournament which has supported more than 800 students in the Abrego Future Scholars program.
